An Independent Voice for Idaho
John Stegner is not a career politician.
A lifelong Idahoan, John Stegner spent 21 years as a District Judge in Moscow, before serving 5 years as a Justice on the Idaho Supreme Court. Practical, reasonable, and non-partisan, Stegner believes that the government exists to serve its citizens.
Read what Stegner stands for below:
Idahoans need affordable, accessible healthcare.
Women’s healthcare is critical to Idaho’s survival.
Since 2023, Idaho has lost 35% of its OB/GYNs and 50% of its Maternal Fetal Medicine doctors. Losing so many doctors has not only made it extremely difficult for Idaho’s women to get care, it has cost Idaho’s economy an estimated $125 million per year.
Medicaid expansion should remain accessible.
Nearly one in five Idahoans are on Medicaid, including one third of our children. The vast majority of adults on Medicaid are working. This is a critical resource that should not be abandoned or reduced.
All Idaho kids deserve the opportunity to get a quality education.
Education should not be reserved for those who can afford it.
Last year, only 53% of Idaho students were proficient in language arts and fewer than 43% were proficient in math. Vouchers take valuable resources away from our kids and create an unequal society.
Idaho is not for sale.
Public lands should remain public.
32,789,648 acres of Idaho are public - 61.9% of our state. This is core to Idaho’s identity and should not change.
Idaho is in the top 5 states with the highest rate of incarceration, despite Idaho’s low crime rate.
This cost Idahoans $338 million in 2025.
This cost is skyrocketing even higher as Idaho has run out of space and now routinely pays other states to house our inmates. Changing sentencing structures could offer more people a path toward rehabilitation and save Idahoans millions, all while keeping dangerous criminals off our streets.
